Our PM 2.5 Activated Carbon Filters are the perfect general purpose replacement filter to add additional filtration and protection to your face mask, neck gaiter or personal respirator.
These replacement filters fit in the custom lined filter pocket and are compatible with our Reusable Face Mask with Valve and Filter & Neck Gaiter with Filter Pocket. They’re also ideal to use as proper filters for home made masks.

At the core, an activated carbon filter is enclosed between 2 layers of high efficiency melt blown filter cloth with an extra layer of non-adhesive filter fabric on each outermost section.
What is Particulate Matter (PM)?
PM is a common proxy indicator for air pollution. It affects more people than any other pollutant. The major components of PM are sulfate, nitrates, ammonia, sodium chloride, black carbon, mineral dust and water. It consists of a complex mixture of solid and liquid particles of organic and inorganic substances suspended in the air.
While particles with a diameter of 10 microns or less, (≤ PM10) can penetrate and lodge deep inside the lungs, the even more health-damaging particles are those with a diameter of 2.5 microns or less, (≤ PM2.5). PM2.5 can penetrate the lung barrier and enter the blood system. Chronic exposure to particles contributes to the risk of developing cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, as well as of lung cancer.

How to use
We recommend replacing the filters regularly for best performance. If used daily, we recommend changing the filter at least twice a week. In general, if you notice reduced airflow or discoloration it’s time to replace the filter.
These filters are not washable. Once used, please dispose of responsibly.
